Dog Friendly Chews
First off we should preface this post by saying that any chew has the potential if used unsupervised or in an unsafe manner to cause problems either by dental fracture or worse airway obstruction. We do not presume to be a canine nutritionist or veterinary specialist but make these recommendations based on our anecdotal experience with our whippets.

Himalayan Yak Milk Bones: these can be purchased online or in store. Make sure to microwave the milk bone when your dog has chewed it down to a small size so it "puffs up" into a cheese puff and minimizes the risk of choking. Let the cheese puff cool before giving to your dog.
Pizzle/Bully Sticks: these can be purchase online or in store. We prefer the low odour ones.
Benebones: often easiest to find online and provide hours of chewing.
Nohide: This is not rawhide and we would NEVER recommend giving rawhide to your dog as they are bleached leather products which can cause intestinal obstructions.
Raw Beef Tracheas: these can be purchased from your local butcher or meat packer. Make sure to freeze the trachea for at least 24 hours prior to giving to your dog. Make sure to thaw prior to serving and cut into 3-4 inch segments.
Raw Beef Brisket Bones: these can be purchased from your local butcher or meat packer. Make sure to freeze the bones for at least 24 hours prior to giving to your dog. Make sure to thaw prior to serving. NEVER give cooked bones to your dog.
